The steroidal molecule has been cleaned up to allow immediate access to both cortisol and androgenic receptors. This allows for a moderate activation of the androgenic/anabolic receptor stimulation initiation of production of myosin, an intracellular protein responsible for the replication of muscle cells. Interaction with cortisol receptor (weak activation) actually blocks activity by stronger corticosteroids, such as dexamethasone, eventuating in upregularion or an increase in the number of androgenic receptors.
